63 Teams of Champions from the U.S. and 18 international teams originating from various countries such as Australia, Puerto Rico and Belgium are invited to take part in the 21st Jack Daniel's World Championships on October 24th in Lynchburg, Tennessee. To be invited to 'The Jack', teams need to be able to present a respectable track record, and we are one of them...
There are 7 categories: Pork chops, Pork shoulder, Beef, Chicken, Dessert, Jack Daniel's Sauce, Cook's Choice and for foreign teams 'Home Cookin'. 25.000 spectators are expected.
Different from European competitions, only the meat is important. The grilling is mainly done at low temperature and cooking times of 24 hours are not exceptional. Every piece of meat is presented in a foodbox, on a bed of salad.
Because Americans, according to our informants, have a sweet tooth, we marinate our meat with a base of speculoos spread and/or honey...
